FAQ's

I've booked my slot, what do I do next?

After booking you need to email across the links to whatever you would like promoted during your promotion package. We will normally get the images via these links but if you prefer to send Hi Res images across then that's fine too. Can you also please send us your link details for Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook. Email to britishcrafters@gmail.com

I'm not on all these Social Media sites yet, can I still book promotion?

Yes, that's fine if you are not set up as essentially our promotion will drive people to where you are pointing them ie you will get more shop visits/sales anyway.

Can I only have links to my shop items?

No, you can have a mixture of links, so you can promote your facebook page, your blog, more than one shop etc.  Each package has an allocated/maximum number of items you can promote during that month.  Of course if you want to have concentrated promotion to one shop with just a few specified items then that's fine too!

The Month I want to book is full.  Can you squeeze me in?

No, unfortunately we can only have a specific number of shops under our promotion at any one time.  Too many and potential customers will have their "feeds" flooded by us and switch us off!  We definitely don't want that!

I only want 2 weeks promotion, is that possible?

Bookings are dealt with by month but if you want to concentrate your promotion over a specific time period during that Month then let us know and we will do our best to make this happen for you.

Can I have a Blog feature more than once?

Yes, you can be featured as many times as you like.  It is good avenue to bring interest to your shop but it can also be used to launch a new seasonal collection or to promote a giveaway etc.

Why are you charging and are you still going doing the free promotion on Facebook?

British Crafters is an amazing place to be, so vibrant and caring and busy!  It simply isn't possible to run what became a full time enterprise for nothing. By charging we are ensuring the long time survival of this wonderful community that benefits from many sales and increased brand awareness and traffic to their shops via this channel. There will still be the opportunity to be shared to our Facebook page without paying!  This will be on an adhoc basis as before with no promises!

I booked but now I'm not quite ready with my shop.  Can I delay the start?

We understand that you want to be perfectly ready for your promotion to start and are very happy to delay your start for however long it takes for you to be happy for it to go ahead!

Do you ever do Offer Codes?

We may offer discount codes from time to time. Such codes may only be applied to purchases made through the account in respect of which the discount code was offered and registered and are not transferrable or redeemable for cash. Unless otherwise stated: codes (1) are only available for future new orders placed online, (2) cannot be used retrospectively and (3) can only be redeemed once per customer and (4) You cannot use more than one discount code per transaction unless we state otherwise; if we do so, the order in which the codes are to be applied is in our sole discretion.

What our customers say....

Ros from Myfanwys Makes and Myfanwys Appliques says

"I have been with British Crafters from the very beginning  and I have seen my business steadily grow. I have two shops one selling crochet appliques and one show casing how I use my appliques  I love looking at the stats on for my shops especially the graphs that shows my sales over the last 4 years steadily rising every year!  I am sure that without the successful promotion from British Crafters this progress would have been a lot slower. Like many crafters I find that there are not enough hours in the day and time spent promoting keeps me away from what I enjoy most creating new appliques!"

Angela from Coverstory says

"British Crafters is the only networking page that I use right now.  Every time I use the promotion packages I'm guaranteed a significant increase in my page views.  Sales are often generated and the networking opportunities are brilliant.  On top of all that Dottie is such a lovely, generous person who provides a valuable service to the crafting community."

Tracey from Moonsugar says

"I have done a few promos now with BC and find they are excellent value . I try to time the promos  to when I know I will have some new products ready to share and for an event such as Christmas or Valentines. The promos have definitely lead to more sales for my bath products  and of equal value is the networking opportunities  with other crafters which has extended my reach , which is something now very challenging on FB . Using BC has also encouraged me to use other social media outlets that I may have otherwise not bothered with or just lacked the confidence to get started with. I am now making great use of Instagram and building up followers which has already lead to new customers.

Good photographs are still key to a good promo and the onus is on you as a crafter to ensure your photos are good quality and show your products in the best light"

Simone from Roses Workshop says...

"I’m not a natural social media person, but that doesn’t matter because Dottie at British Crafters does it all for me. She spreads the word (and the pictures) even on platforms I don’t belong to.The choice of packages means I can tailor the amount of promotion around the needs of my business from month to month. Best of all, there is an immediate and ongoing effect on both views and sales.  It’s only July, but I’ve already planned my promotions for Christmas. Knowing that the social media work is safely in Dottie’s care, I can concentrate on making more beautiful things from gorgeous British wool. I know my customers will see them thanks to the wonderful British Crafters."

Maggie from Maggie Gee Needlework says...

"Dottie, the day I saw you on Folksy advertising your service you said  'It's the best money you could ever invest...'....Well it has been. For someone like me who can really only pay as I go, it has been an absolute God Send and has turned my business around. Words just can't thank you enough for all your work".

Susan from Susan Holton Knitwear says...

I’ve been using British Crafters to promote my knitwear for a while. Now that I’ve had a chance to compare my website visitor numbers before, during and after the various British Crafters promotions I’ve run, there's no doubt that I get significantly greater numbers of interested web site visitors during the promotions than before or after. So I’ve just booked up some more! Dottie is also efficient and very easy to work with. Recommended!”

Gill from Rainbowsnmore says...

I have booked BC on many occasions and the service you get is second to none. Susan bends over backwards to make sure that it works for me and is happy to change things mid promotion if something isn't working. Past promotions have lead to greatly increased views in both my Folksy and Etsy shops often resulting in sales. I have already booked for the Autumn and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this service to others.
